THOMAS TRUAX
Straight outta Wowtown via New York City, one-man "band" Thomas Truax is famed for his array of bizarre homemade instruments (including the now-legendary 'Hornicator'), captivating live performances, and ground-breaking recordings. He crafts some very potent songs...poetically evocative and rich with melancholy. His current tour mixes originals from his latest album 'Sonic Dreamer' ("Something very, very special"-Drowned In Sound) with selections from last year's acclaimed 'Songs From The Films Of David Lynch'.
Truax has been featured in two feature-length films: 'Instrumental', from director Gabe Shalom (US, 2005) documenting the lives of for artists who make their own instruments, and Adam Clitheroes 'One Man In The Band' (UK, 2008).
He's played Glastonbury and Edinburgh Fringe festivals, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and appeared on MTV. He has been labeled 'Steampunk' and 'Antifolk' but denies all charges.
"Truax is shaping up nicely as one of the great rock eccentrics" - Morning Star
"Like a trip to the frayed edges of sanity. . .unapologetically original." -Dazed and Confused
THE VICTORIAN ENGLISH GENTLEMENS CLUB
"The Victorian English Gentlemens Club are a bag of 3 noisy, existentialist, Dada-esque punk mercenaries, who have been sent from afar (well, Cardiff) to re-ignite the dischordant DIY art school blaze. With unashamedly lo-fi leanings the band’s style has progressively evolved from minimalist post-punk to the far darker no-wave feel which they now piss proudly from every pore"
Brand New Album out 13th June - 'Bag of Meat'. On This Is Fake DIY Records:
Their most thrilling mix yet of grotesque lyrics, fuzz and pop hooks. Art rock's best kept secret" NME April 2011
"A thrilling return - we can't wait for the album" 5/5 Artrocker May 2011

Or perhaps you seek out the undead in a story?
If you’d like these set down in a song or a ballad
I’d get yourself down to Francesca’s Word Salad...
A solitary show-woman, Francesca shuffles up macabre ballads with whist-ful laments ready to deal out a show encompassing a musical human hat stand, artfully exhibiting the latest techniques from the world of amateur bonnet making
