New Year is approaching and as always I am writing up a long list of resolutions to see me through 2009. I always compile a list of at least a dozen different ideas. Often I write far more. I usually achieve about a quarter of them, which I take as being enough. This year I've decided to rollover previously unfulfilled ambitions so that I can't run or hide from any idea in the future. My list is a mixture of boring things I need to attend to (ie 'Write a Will' - unfulfilled - which was on last year's) and stuff I fancy attempting ('learn drums' was on last year's too. I took up drum lessons in the summer and have a lesson most weeks. Box ticked.) The forthcoming year's list is still small. 'Do the Lotto every week' (well why not? It'll cost me £52 in total, and I could win millions.). 'Get a new suit' (not as boring as it sounds - I'm going to go on a good hunt for something special, maybe even fitted and made for me). 'Track music in my blog'. So far, this is the one I'm looking forward to the most. In the past six months I've enjoyed music more than I think I ever have done before. I'm not sure why, but I have. I'm devouring music new and old, and it feels like 2009 is going to be a year full of music for me. So I don't want to miss a moment in anticipation of when I get to the year end and compile that CD of the year's finest releases I was talking about in my last post. I can't wait!
