Before that, there's SXSW - not that I've been able to afford a flight or ticket yet, though I'm still talking about going, and a short, 6-day, snowboarding holiday with my friends Sam and Kev. Both are strong snowboarders, so I'm going to get run ragged. Crikey. Though, again, I've paid for the holiday but can't afford flights or the lift pass. Yet I seem intent on making it happen. Hmmmm. How does that work?
Tomorrow I'm up to Anglesey ahead of the St David's Day show with Cerys. It will end her tour around Wales, which has been a blast. If anyone's been distracted by the tabloids then they only have to see her sing to be reminded what she's truly about. What a voice. The musicians on the tour, Kevin Teel, Mason Neely and Wal, are so talented too. Saturday will be fantastic and be a nice pause before we look at shows later in the year.
She's offered a second mini-album of Welsh language songs to our label, My Kung Fu, too. I've heard some of the tracks performed live and they're fantastic. Her new material is her strongest solo stuff - making great use of her voice, with this experimental edge which really sets her apart (and is in complete contrast to the tabloid life being played out of late). I can't wait to get it together. I love the fact that she remains daring - a welsh language album is, say, in complete contrast to what she *could* be doing right now - though that's all to come once she completes her english language record. I'm sure major labels will be snapping at her heels.
